Artist: Lynn Levin

Lynn Levin is the 1999 Bucks County Poet Laureate, and teaches creative writing at the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University. She is the author of Poems for the Writing: Prompts for Poets (with Valerie Fox) (2013), and four collections of poems: Miss Plastique (2013); Fair Creatures of an Hour (2009), a Next Generation Indie Book Awards finalist in poetry; Imaginarium (2005), a finalist for ForeWord Magazine’s Book of the Year Award; and A Few Questions about Paradise (2000). She frequently gives poetry readings in the Philadelphia region and out of state. Lynn has twice been awarded grants from the Leeway Foundation. Her poems have been published in Ploughshares, Boulevard, Cimarron Review and scores of other places. She has a bachelor of arts degree in comparative literature from Northwestern University (1975) and a master of fine arts in writing poetry from Vermont College (2000). She has been a guest poet at several schools in Bucks County and has taught poetry to elders at Ann’s Choice. College teaching has been her main focus since 2000, but working with children and elders is a special delight to her: she loves being able to open the imaginations of people both old and young.
