Proposal Description Children will learn basic techniques of watercolors using primary and secondary colors and simple washes. By observing fruits and vegetables, students will gain an understanding of color, shape and texture. We will use the book, You Can Paint Watercolors by Allwyn Crawshaw, as a reference. I will demonstrate how to paint a watercolor, afterwards the students will have an opportunity to paint their own painting. They will come away from the experience possessing the basic concepts on which watercolor is based and be encouraged to paint on their own. They will also have an appreciation of the natural beauty of fruits and vegetables and may be more motivated to eat these healthful foods. An example of one of my watercolor paintings will be exhibited for the children to observe.
