An interactive project involving visual arts, story telling and movement. Students create their own “munny” character, assign it character traits and create a story-line in groups. Music and creative movement also incorporated. Continue reading

Students retell a tale or myth through story reenactment and dance. Continue reading
Metamorphosis
The story of “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” by Eric Carle will be retold through dance. Continue reading
Martin Luther King, I have a Dream
Martin Luther King, I have a Dream
Students will learn a short choregraphed dance that is part of a larger dance performed to the spoken “I Have a Dream” speech. Students will also see video of Roxey Ballet’s entire piece. Continue reading

Class incorporates teaching how dance is a communicative artform using warmups, dancing, and choreography. Continue reading
Exploring Native America Through Dance & Drum
This class uses dance and percussion to explore the Native American poem. Continue reading
Yoga in Motion
Origins and history of Yoga are discussed, and children are introduced to yoga postures, combined with musical rhythms. Continue reading
Yoga in the Classroom
YogaKids is an integrated approach to yoga that incorporates the brain, mind, body and spirit. Children learn poses, act out books and learn stress relieving techniques. Continue reading
